I anyone in interested - The following information is from my uncles service record. He served with Co B, 1st Bn, 17th Marine (Engeers), First Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force (FMF)

Embarked aboard MS John Ericsson at San Fransisco, CA 19-June 1942. Sailed for Permanent Foreign Duty beyond the seas on 22 June 1942. Arrived at Wellington, New Zealand on 12 July 1942, Disembarked on 17 July 1942.

Embarked aboard the USS Barnett at Wellingford, NZ on 15 July 1942. Sailed there from 22 July 1942. Disembarked at Guadalcanal – Tulagi area and participated in operations with the 1st Marine Division from 7 Aug 1942 to 15 Dec 1942.

Embarked aboard the USS Hunter Ligett at Guadalcanal on 13 December 1942. Sailed same date. Arrived at Brisbane 19 December 1942. Disembarked 26 Dec 1942

Embarked aboard USS West Point at Brisbane, Australia 8 January 1943. Sailed on 10 Jan 1943. Arrived and disembarked at Melbourne, Australia on 12 Jan 1943

Embarked aboard the USS President Jackson at Borgen Bay, Cape Gloucester, N.B on 24 April 1944. Arrived and disembarked at Pavuvu Peninsula, Pavuvu Island, Russell Group, BSI on 28 April 1944

Embarked aboard USS Cape San Martin at Peleliu Island, Palau Island Group, on 22 October 1944 and sailed same date. Arrived and disembarked at Pavavu Island, Russell Island Group, on 30 October 1944

3 Nov 1944, embarked aboard USS General William Mitchell at Pavuvu Island, Russell Isl;ands, British Solomon Islands; sailed 4 Nov 1944. Arrives and disembarked at San Diego, CA on 17 Nov. 1944
