Subject: Did anyone know my grandfather Ned Halen? USS Harris (APA-2)

 I am trying to learn about my grandfather's service during WWII. His name was Ned Halen He was 17 when he joined the Navy in 1942. He was 5'11'' and had bright blue eyes.

Anyone that knows anything would be appreciated. He didn't ever want to talk about his experiences and sadly he passed away in 1999. I've only recently been able to discover some information about his service, and I am so proud of what he did. I am so thankful to all of our vets!

He was on the USS Sheridan for a short time, from Sept 1943 to Dec. 1943 and then he was on the Harris until Jan 1946.
