Subject: Manhattan looked like Louisville yesterday...

I can't decide if a league minimum of games for each team on MSG is a good or bad thing now. I watched the first half of an absolutely humiliating performance. I fell asleep at the start of the 2nd half and awoke at the the end of the game. Perhaps I passed out from the fumes the Hounds were giving off. Unwatcheable.

The Hounds got off to a "slow" start. Halfway through the first half the score was 24-3. Manhattan went to full court pressure from the tip and made us look like a high school team. When we managed to get down the floor, it seems we employed the old 'someone hold the ball until the shot clock winds down and hoist a prayer' offense. That or, we made a bad pass to the post. Manhattan looked like Louisville with the threes they were shooting and the pressure they were giving us on D.

Once Manhattan got to a 25 point lead, they used the bench early and often. It's nice to know that we provide great scrimmage fodder for other colleges.

I'm not going to single out people like I did in my post after the Marist game on TV - everyone was just terrible yesterday. But I will note that having a walk-on as our starting point guard is evident. It's not Dickey's fault. I want to know what the hell happened to that first recruiting class he had - the one where he gave out 6 or 7 scholarships? Not one of them played point. I also seem to remember a hyped JUCO last year or the year before. Who was that and is he on the team?

Our offensive philosophy seems to be milk as much clock as possible so that the other team can't score as much - and we still lose by 20+ every game. The reason: our defense is probably worse than our offense.

this is the worst team I've seen at evergreen. and that is saying something. Our talent level is low and our couch can't coach. how did we manage to win 4 games? did this actually happen? did anyone see it?
