Subject: When is the best time to fire a coach?
In reply to: MacDog 's message, "Quote from Hicks - GOOD or BAD?" on 15:39:28 03/03/03 Mon

I give him credit for speaking with the press at all. Well, not really. But what can you possibly say at this point of the season? "We suck. The team has quit playing." He's riding this puppy out and trying not to lose anyone going into next year. I think he has to realize that next year his ass (hopfully) will be on the line.

If we start off next year 2-10 - Hicks has to be gone by February 1, 2004. I want an assist to take over coaching duties on an interim basis (let's see if that sparks life) and begin the search externally as soon as possible.
