We also made the Final Four in the late 90's only to get crushed by Maryland in the semi finals and no we did not make the tourney last year.

Considering that our "stadium" is basically a parking lot covered with artificial turf, I find it amazing that we have had the recruiting success that we have had. If we had a real stadium, I really think we would have a national title in our future.

No "non-football" school has ever won the lax title yet Loyola is always one of the better teams in the country. No we are not top tier with Princeton and Syracuse but given our size and resources we have done very well. People tend to forget that Loyola had no real lax history pre Dave Cottle. In fact it was not until recently that our all-time record surpassed .500 and that was only after many strong records under Cottle.

Are we in a downturn...absolutely and it may take a stadium to get us out of the down turn.

Just an FYI...the women's team is ranked #1 and plays their first ever televised game (Channel 2)on Saturday at noon at Curley Field versus Penn State. That will be followed by Syracuse routing the men's team at 3PM, also on Channel 2.
