Subject: Echoes of the Laugh
In reply to: Sephiroth 's message, "Hears the laughter" on 05:03:31 02/16/02 Sat

The laugh echoed around for miles, and the small human town of Bergost heard it. Allandora, the elf wo was raised by one of the town's wealthier merchants, heard it first. She sat up straight in her bed and looked out of her window, twoards the sound. She leaned over to the next bed and shook the shoulder of her older brother Delon.

"Hey! Del!" she whispered, not wanting to wake up her adopted father "What in the Nine Hells was that laugh?"

Delon rolled over, half awake "Nothing, sis, just go back to bed. You're having a dream..."

Allandora glared at Delon "I'm not dreaming, and...hey!" she had noticed that Delon had fallen asleep again "DON'T YOU FALL ASLEEP WHEN I'M BEING SERIOUS!!!!!!!!" and she lifted up Delon's matress to one side, causing him to roll out of bed.

"Hey!" yelled Delon, now fully awake. "Dad told you not to do that again!"

By this time, the entire household was awake. The rest of Allandora's brothers came in. Laughing when they saw Delon sprawled on the floor and Allandora holding the matress up. Her father, Aldrin, was furious. "ALLANDORA!!" he yelled, his face red "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU?!?! DON'T FLIP DEL OUT OF HIS BED! I don't know why I picked you up by the edge of the road. You were such a harmless thing then. Who would've guessed you'd grow up to be such a bad girl? Maybe the boys have been too bad of an influence..." He sighed and shook his head, not noticing Allandora doing a mimicking of him, "Well, maybe you need to go out on your own. You're 27 now, and I know you can take care of yourself... you've proved it by beating up all of the boys in the town...What was that?"

He stopped at the sound of the laughter echoing across the hills. He became tense, and some of the younger boys ran behind him.

"That was what I heard. See, Del?" She gave him a punch on the shoulder, "I wasn't dreaming."

She then noticed that Delon was white. "Wus" Allandora muttered under her breath. Delon was big, but he wasn't as tough as Allandora. She got an idea. She circled around the room, as if to comfort her little brothers, but she snuck up behind Delon and grabbed his shoulder. He screamed, and she laughed.

"AAAHHH!!!! Allandora!" he roared when he noticed who did it. She laughed and put her face close to his. Even though she was an elf, she was very tall. "I scared you, you big wus!!!" laughing, she ran down the stairs, so she wouldn't get caught, Delon hot in pursuit.

"Those two," muttered Aldrin. He started to usher off the rest of the boys back to bed, soothing them by telling them it was just the wind....

(Sorry this was long, too, but I gotta give my main character a background, right? ^_^)
