Subject: When Love Comes Calling

When Love Comes Calling
By: Noah Eaton

The Lady Of The Lilies was sitting there at the edge of the Enchanted Pond
Feeding the ducks as she was gazing upon the ripples of the water
She was the prettiest maiden in all of the Beautiful Beyond
She believed she had everything she ever wanted, everything that appealed to her
But as she threw a stone into the water, and watching the ripples grow and segregate
That’s when it struck her, as she saw the ripples form together at the ridge of the water
Except for one which slightly grew but then whispered to a fade
She shouted, “Give me the sign! Give me the true meaning of the calling of love!”

Not far away, deep in the Magical Floating City of Unicorn’s Horn
On top of the Golden Tower of Laurentana, where the heavenly bells ring
There lived a freelance bard, who did nothing but sing his sweet sonnets to the community
He had always lived so happily, he never paused on a single melody
But then finally there had come a time when his sforzando just sounded too slow
Frozen up all tentatively, this maestro marvel fell to his knees
That was when he realized that there was some beauty missing from his notes
And he shouted, “Paint me with the true colors of love!”

The Lady Of The Lilies sat there at the pond, petrified with self-doubt
Until all a sudden, the wind had spoken to her
It said, “I can see how you’re feeling, my child, and I can help you!”
She said, “Help me find true love! Paint me with all it’s glory!”
The wind grew a majestic smile and responded,
“Feel the passionate warmth of love wrap around you like a scarf,
follow it’s graceful flame, and you shall find the man of your dreams!”
The Lady thanked the wind as it began to take it’s southernly course

The lonely bard was still sitting atop the mighty tower
Humming lonely lovesongs at the deserted azure sky
That’s when he knew that he did not deserve to be perched up here
On top of these rooftops, blinded by fuliginous shadows of forgetfulness
He said, “No, I belong with the Beautiful Beyond, I belong with that sensation!”
So he hurriedly gathered remnants of his greatest work
And made his way down the shaft of the bell tower, descending to the ground
And ran away from the city, hearing small chants of endearment along the way

The Lady Of The Lilies continued to run through the Beautiful Beyond
Wearing that warm affectionate scarf to guide her to her fantasy
No hunger or aches could stop her, the power of love was bubbling in her soul
The flame just kept getting warmer, she knew love wasn’t that far away
When all a sudden, she could feel the desire encircling her
She stopped in the middle of the prairie and thought, “He must be here!”
She looked around her, and right beside her, there he was, glancing out into the distance
The one who would love her, protect her, be together with her forever

The solitary bard slowly turned around, immediately gazing into the lady’s beautiful eyes
He said, “Are you the one who I’ve long been looking for?”
Delighted with joy, the young lady raised her hand to touch the young bard’s face
As she flung back the hair over the bard’s ear and touched his cheek, she said, “It is you!”
For she was very sure that he was the one, for true love is never meant to be frozen over
Then the two looked in each others eyes and slowly kissed each other
As they danced in the prairie, fulgurous flashes of fiery love flickering upon the Beautiful Beyond
That’s when the Lady Of The Lilies knew she had everything, and that she had met the one
And that was when the bard knew love was the supreme note, and he began to play his sweet sonnets on and on
It was this great day when both of them knew when true love comes calling!
And that it is always compelled to be a beautiful thing!
