We leased a 2000 Pontiac Montana in 2000, which we no longer have. The automatic door closed on my 8 year old daughter's hand and broke it in 2000. She has had problems with the hand since then. I checked the NHTSA website & noticed that the car was recalled due to the door possibly opening up while driving. This covered several years including 2000. I noticed that most of the reported complaints were about the door opening up, but in 2000 there were a number of complaints filed due to the door crushing people. Any one know if it is possible that GM tried to resolve the opening problem in earlier years by increasing the door-closing pressure in 2000?
