i've had a long-running episode of hearing my doorbell ringing-usually every morning, sometimes a few weeks in a row, but finding that nobody's there. i de-activated my door bell and had less recurrances (remember that it could only be in my head by that point-doorbell disconnected) until finally all was ok-i guess the knowledge of doorbell not working slowly seaps through to the unconcious until it registers, then you can eventually convince yourself to the point where you no longer hear the doorbell. iwas diagnosed with asperger's syndrome when i was sixteen- Danny
