I look forward to trying out your game. I actually made a semi-working version of Heroquest is Director. The coding was fun, but troublesome, especially when it came to coding the hallways that are 2 tiles wide, but I eventually got it working.

As for a better tool for making games, I would probably try Director. It makes Shockwave games, and would probably be better suited for bitmap-based graphics than Flash would. Flash is a great tool, don't get me wrong, it's just not nearly as powerful as Director when it comes to programming.

I actually used director to make the HQ Card Creator, available for download at http://www.imaginethatmedia.com/heroquest/temp.html. Also, the Random Name Generator available on that site was made entirely in Director.

In the end, either Flash or Director will do the job. Flash is getting to be pretty powerful, but in my opinion it isn't nearly as powerful as Director, especially since Director can handle 3D graphics pretty darn well.

Just offering my $.02
