That's a tough one... The game is no longer in production (it was last produced in the early 90's), nor does MB plan to re-release it. Your best bets in finding a copy are eBay or other auction sites (I picked up another main game last month on Yahoo Auctions for $9.50 US). A piece of advice, wait it out until you find a complete set, if you don't already have one, for a price you're willing to pay there will always be another one for sale. eBay usually has 30+ main games listed at any given time. Search 'heroquest' or 'hero quest'. Note that the expansions go for much more. However you should note that all of the Quests, cards and tiles, including the main game and rules, are available free throughout the web (check the downloads section on this site and other HQ sites, check the links section). There's even a site where the game board itself is available for download! However, this does not get you the miniatures and that's where the true uniqueness of this game stems from. The miniatures create a simple, always changing but highly effective 3D world. It should also be noted that 'Kellar's Keep' and 'Return of the Witch Lord' only added more Orkind and Undead miniatures respectively, 'Elf Quest: The Mage of the Mirror', 'Barbarian Quest: The Frozen Horror', 'Against the Ogre Horde' and 'Wizards of Morcar' each added unique figures.

You could also try thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets or game stores that have stock of older items. But that is a lot of leg work with highly unreliable results. If you do find one the first three will probably net you a deal, but the last, the game store, will require all your cash and both kidneys!

Good luck, hope that helps,
Malechi
