I can only agree. The reported IQ values are hilariously unreliable - there is nothing to stop people crediting themselves with a superb IQ, so the person advertising only needs only to choose a value not so high that it becomes unbelievable. No-one really will demand a retest.

It is the same thing with sperm counts. I've seen ads where people just say they are extremely fertile, and there are strings of replies from anxious potential recipients to get their hands on the booty.

If people are reasonable, they would disregard most of this information and look for more solid indicators such as demonstrated fertility. After all, people with normal sperm count can be very fertile and people with an abnormally high one may exhibit some other defect. For example in oocyte targeting and penetration.

And with respect to intelligence, acquired high social status is a much better indicator. After all, most people will use their intelligence to acquire status, and if people with a purported high IQ don't succeed, there might be something wrong...
