With the crisis in the UK because of lack of sperm donors (see http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/08/15/sperm_donor_shortage ), I actually would like to take the advantage of the situation because I would like to be a Known sperm Donor but I do not want any kind of legal rights (and obligations!) towards the child.

In the US, to be a known donor but with + remove the legal rights to the child means a relatively complicated legal procedure if done before the child is conceived... which is what I want to do.

Can I become a UK Donor from the USA? Do sperm banks in the UK accept a non-UK donor? I do not travel to the UK and no plans to do so in the near future. I do have some distant relatives in Yorkshire and Northern Ireland.
