You are 100% correct about the risks - it goes both ways: the donor can sue the mother for custody and rights and the mother can sue the donor for support.

I do not agree that lesbian couple have higher tendancy to break up their relationships.

50% of married [straight] couples end up divorcing each other. I think that even a higher pecentage of woman do not plan well for the costs and support needed in raising a child.
