Looking up at the sun, Zall flipped his braid over his shoulder.
"I still got time," he tells himself, knowing that he really doesn't.
On the beach, he stops by a deserted nest. Green, or gold? Oh well, it really didn't matter. He saw three eggs left, and felt in his pocket for smoked meat.
Before he determined whether or not he had enough for flits, all three hatched at once, a brown and two greens. He quickly divides the meat into three parts, and places each part in front of a hatchling.

He did have enough meat.

The two green fell asleep in his arms, and the brown slept on his neck. Zall arranged the two greens so that he could carry them safely, and continued trying to find the Hatching ground.

"What will I call you?" he asked aloud.

The first green to have started eating was more blue than green, sort of like turquoise.
The second green was a dark green, darker than the green of his usual tunic, absented for the white candidate's shift.
"Turquoise and Forest, you lovely ladies will be, then. What about you, tiger?"
He meant it as a joke, because his father often called him tiger, but the name seemed to stick. "Tiger it is, lttle one.
So, ladened with Tiger, Yuquoise, and Forest, he found the Hatching Ground.

((By the way, you do know that a gold would never leave her clutch? She has to be there to help them get food, and to imprint them to her in the case of a wild hatching?
Another thing, Eggs don't hatch days apart. They have to hatch all together, spaced out but still in the same day, or the mother would go crazy. Just wanted to point those out.))
