Subject: *Pads softly onto the sand*

Joselet enter with a lute in her hands. She surveys her predicessors. Dark eyes fall lovingly on her lute. The wood had been smoothed over the years. The light wood now shiny with age. She settles herself in the sand. Long, graceful fingers dance across the strings. A rich soprano voice begins to sing. Her voice is soft and befitting for the ballad. The lute hums with a life of its own.

Down in the green
AAAand shady bed
A modest violet grew.
It's stalk was bent
it hung its head
as if to hide from veiw.
As if to hide from veiw.

And yet it was
A lovely flower
Its colors bright and fair.
it might have graced a roesy bow'r
Instead of hiding there.
Instead of hiding there.

Yet there it was
content to bloom
in modest tints arrayed.
And there it spreads its
sweet perfume
within the silent shade.
Within the silent shade

The silent shade....

Then let me to
the valley go this pretty flow'r to see
That I may also learn to grow in
sweet humility.
In sweet humility.

That I may also learn to grow....
In sweet humility.........

She lets the last note linger until the strings stop vibrating. A black braid is flung carelessly over a narrow shoulder. Her lips curve lovingly into a smile for her lute.
