Subject: Thoughts after watching

A promising start to the new season!!!! It's becoming evident that the writers are no longer content with bringing up the usual stuff we've accostomed to seeing from 'Charmed'. First, they've decided that they're going to incorporate some of the attitude that's shown on other shows like 'Buffy', 'Dark Angel' and movies like "The Matrix" into the show. So far, Prue is now organizating the actions against their enemies. Nothing wrong with sisterly group hugs on certain occasions, but not too much when faced with unreal odds. I liked that Prue stopped Phoebe from holding her hand as she was going to break open those doors in the courtroom.

Phoebe's new power makes total sense here. The reason is that now that the enemies understand how the Power of Three works, they'll have to work on each witch individually. As long as Phoebe continues to have only the precognitive power, it's only a matter of time before some enemy figures out how to separate the Halliwells, isolating Phoebe from her two sisters like a baby gazelle is isolated from the pack by a pride of lions. Hence, the power to levitate is given to her by the higher powers. Now the focus of physical and combative weakness falls on Piper. Piper's personal problems will only exacerbate that even further, as she struggles to figure out how to best proceed on her relationship with Leo. The fascinating thing about it is that this could re-inforce her doubts about staying within the Power of Three, which also could foreshadow a vicious demon attack that could paralyze Piper, perhaps around episode 14 or so. Now that Pheebs has her active power, the speculation would be whether Piper will have a second power, one of her sisters gets a third power or that there won't be any new powers in the near future.

The mythology is going to be established regarding Cole. From the previews I've seen for next week's episode, I may not like how they're going to explain Cole's presence even further. Can we really believe a story about how he could change into animal form and back? Let's hope I'm wrong on this one.

Other thoughts:
-Darryl, welcome to the group of believers.
-It looks Phoebe's new power trigger is the flight or fight reaction. :)
-What do you think of Cole being Phoebe's love interest?
-Just as I thought, they may not end up married this season.

Best Line:
Phoebe: I told you that you don't try that active power on me until I try an active power on you, Prue.
