Eventually 'e found Obsidian, an' because this Alpha was gentler than th' others 'is first reaction was scorn at th' weakness o' 'im. 'e thought, per'aps, that 'e could overthrow 'im an' take o'er th' pack, thus sparin' th' trouble o' startin' one. But then 'e 'ad arriv'd, an' seen th' might o' th' Alpha, an' 'e knew that not only would 'e lose a battle, but 'e could not do such a thing to so worthy a beast. An' another new thing that 'it 'im was th' fact that 'e did not want to leave, e'er, e'en to start 'is own pack! An' so 'e stay'd, bein' submissive an' respectful an' doin' 'is best to be a good addition to th' pack. It felt much better to belong than to wander alone, an' for th' Alpha it must be so 'ard - not to know who to trust, who to turn 'way. 'e didn't think 'e could take th' full weight on, but 'e could come close. So this was a good place for 'im to be.

Orbs swing back to th' fatale, wonderin' id she would think 'im weak or traitorous for 'is actions... only then does 'e notice she is closer an' 'e tilts 'is dial slightly, wonderin' why she 'ad done so but delight'd by it. She need not stay far from 'im, an' 'er trust to be close an' unwary fill'd 'im with an odd sort o' 'appiness... 'e wonders, through 'is worry at 'er reaction an' 'is delight at 'er comin' close, what 'er own reasons for comin' were...�
