Thinking about the *too many* reports of financial establishments losing control of tens of thousands (or more) of account-#s, maybe that's how somebody already has everything but your PIN. So, I suspect the key would be: who called whom? If you called the credit-card company or somewhere you're shopping by phone, you actually know who you called. But, if they called you, none of it could be as it appears--even if you have "Caller I.D."

So, if someone calls you, asking for numbers as-described, tell that so-&-so to get ready to write it down because you're only going to say it ONCE. Then give them the following number (spaces *are* significant):

7734__02__09

No matter what they say, tell them that IS the correct number, just turn the paper about and view it inverted. Then hang up and report it to your local authorities. ;^)
