Subject: Practice Tomorrow Author: Marty [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 19:41:58 01/07/03 Tue I hope everyone enjoyed the Holidays. Our first practice of the new season will be tomorrow night and I'm hoping for a full turnout. March is only 8 short weeks away and Cutch tells me we have had many inquiries for parades and dances, and even have some signed contracts back. Time to blow the dust off some tunes, and I suspect, some pipes and drums. Pat expects to be down tomorrow night, so plan on working on the contest set as well as parade tunes. I expect to be there no later than 7:30 and will start going over the contest set at that time. I will also have a metronome. For those of you who weren't there at the last practice before the break, we discussed the fact that although we're keeping the same set, we're basically going to start from scratch playing very slowly with the metronome and gradually increase the pace weekly to try to get better at playing together. Frank was good enough to take the time to put pencil to paper and map out a practice schedule from now until the first contest. I think if we "stick to the program" we'll see some positive results. Please be sure to bring your music for the set down. I ordered new reeds but won't have them tomorrow. I should have them by next week's practice. Hope to see you all tomorrow night.
