Subject: Supershow Post Mortem and Thanks

Thanks to all those who displayed bikes (John Cooper, Mike Heggarty, Sal Scebba, Rob Guillemette, John Ridge, Doug MacRae, Dave Jones and the Supershow/Canadian Motorcycle Heritage Museum). Sal came from Montreal with his Ducati. John Ridge had his Norton tail piece destroyed by a flapping tarp. Rob worked hard to have his bodywork on his sidecar ready but in the end we decided it was more interesting without the body. Dave arrived with the paint on his Honda tank still not dry. Mike made 3 separate trips from London bringing his Yamaha. John came through at the last minute with two great bikes, the BSA and the AJS. Doug was again one of the first to offer his Norton. Supershow offered us a TA125. These guys made the booth what it was and each sacrificed to make it possible. Thanks.

The booth volunteers did a great job representing the club. We tried something a little different this year, letting the public into the booth to chat with us and get a better look at the bikes. There were no problems and I think our open approach was appreciated. We signed up several new members on the spot and gave out every one of our membership forms. We also included a sidecar in our display, as in the MMIC show, and again this was a big hit. More so than any other club, we put on a friendly and professional display that should atract many more people to the club and our events in the coming year. Thanks to the booth volunteers for representing the club well.

Thanks also to Claude Cormier (Claude who? ... Hopper!) for helping with the booth construction and tear down, to our club executive for spending so much time at the show having traveled so far and to Tom and Judy Faulds for bringing the trophys for display in the Canadian Motorcycle Heritage Museam display.

So what's next? Well, we have made a committment to be at the Spring Bike Show. In the past we had a very small display. I'm not sure what we will do this time but the show is only a 2 day event so the number of volunteers required will be less. Our experience at the MMIC show indicates that the size of our booth does not matter as long as we have good bikes and enthusiastic volunteers. We look forward to your support once more when we have the details for the Spring Bike Show. We are also planning to have a booth at the Montreal Bike Show for the first time this year. This is a great start to a very good year for the club.
