[An old prize... so was he, after his mother raised him. Driven out in pain and a deep, longing ache. An ache for compassion. For love. never would he give the same fate to her, not for all the fresh sweet grass in existence, not for paradise, not for safety of his own. his life was hers, a trick he wasn't....

She was a goddess to him, a thing of beauty which could never be destroyed. He loved her with something akin to worship, and would love her 'till the day one of them passed, for all of eternity in his eyes. A being of ethereal unreality, a dazzling brightness, a thing emotion itself could not describe. Love was a fickle thing, something which no one would give readily, for fear of being hurt....

She would never be just a prize, to put in some window of his pride, no, she was not to be displayed for bragging. She would be kept in his heart, yet given a key. She could leave if she wished, but it would bring him great pain. he understood, probably more than any other prancing Lord upon his hill. He would tame his pride and give her somthing she could trust. He knew she deserved it.]
