One of the best (and oldest) teachers at Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall stands in front of the class, though they don't know it. A cat sits on her desk while everyone whispers about where their teacher might be when the cat suddenly morphs into McGonagall! Everyone oohs and ahhs. "Good afternoon, class. I am Professor McGonagall and I am here to teach about Transfiguration. There are few wizard in the world who actually have mastered the art of transforming THEMSELVES into animals, and don't expect you to be transforming anytime soon!" she looked sternly at the young faces.
Then, with a pleasant smile, she said, "Now, let's try something fun for the first day. I understand that Professor Flitwick has taught you how to swish and flick your wands. Let's see it!" The students took out their wands and demonstrated. Some were better than others. "Wonderful! Now, I want all of you to partner up," she paused to let them do so. "Very good. See the matches in front of each of you? There should be one at each desk...yes, Miss Blair, please come get one. I wonder where yours went...no matter. Anyway, I want all of you to turn it into a pin."
The class silently gaped at her. "It's very simple, just swish and flick and say the spell and you've got it!" The class worked extremely hard, though only a few were able to do it.
