Subject: How Are North American Regions Determined

I see on the IDTANA web page the way the regions are divided. What determines the divisions. Is it by number of schools, or number of certified teachers, or by number of dancers, or what?

Also, why is Pennsylvania divided into two regions????

some parts are geographically closer to New England/New York and others closer to Ohio(mid west region). Schools like Burke,Bell and Shovlin are closer to Ohio feiseanna then to
New England/New York. They took the geography and the teachers into account when they divided it.
