cutting pictures- ed created here, a head on collision between faith no more, muse and the deftones on it's epic feel, ball-gripping riff n chrd use and chuggy heaviness. The lyrics were an experiment: i head just watched part of an itv drama bout murder and decided to tell a totally fictitious story that had nothing to do with me. its about a woman whose marriage has broken and her husband and children have left. She is cutting her husbands face out of the photos she has and contemplates suicide by using the scissors. very dark, very spontaneous, effective rock.
october-a spur of the moment decision. you'd have to ask matt about this one. matt's lyrics are underused in this band simply cos i write too much and wer a bunch of half arsed musicians. beutifully reflective.
dessiderium-"dessiderium nosstrurem-a longing or a need for some one or something". written (in part) during an english lesson where i heard the latin term. i was particularly missing my girlfreind and is very straight forward. the verse is quite metaphoric and is talking about how she made much more of an impact on me than i was expecting without realising it. This song was the start of the album material and in my opinion spured alot of song writing and thought over our sound and direction.
