Hi,
I am no expert but do grow a few pachypodiums. Chances are yours is experiencing lower temperatures than it likes. It may be going dormant, which means it could rot if not kept dry. I'd advise keeping it indoors from August to October, or thereabouts. Give it a window spot with plenty of light & water sparingly. Come summer, give it full sun outside.
Ian
