Hey Mycena
I grew a batch of Hoodia Gordonii year before last and now have nice plants. I have given them the works during warmer months - fertiliser every second water and a good drink once a week. I have found they thrive with this treatment and grow quite fast.
Mine are in (almost) full sun but under transparent plastic cover. This makes it easier to control the amount of water they receive.
Are yours in a sunny position? too much water in a too shady postion will certainly rot them.
I know this is a late reply so hopefully you have already gotten on top of it. Happy growing.
Cheers Adrian
