I had similar problem with my 2000 GTI VR6. One morning after the rain over night I noticed my car was puddle with the water in both front and little in back due to my car was parked in downhill slope. My door was shut closed and couldn't see anywhere where rain could had sip in. I had no idea where that water came from and how. I checked side panel for wetness but it was bone dry it's a mistery until today how and where the water got in. Did it rain when your car was soak in with water? I've no pro. with my vent.
