well basically its not the chip at all. Th only difference is the amount of boost, the 2001 runs about 6.5 Psi of boost which is good for 150hp. The 2002 runs at about 9.5 or 10 psi which is good for 1ts 180hp. There are many aftermarket companies like EIP Tuning and APR Technologies that make chips for the both of them. Basically the chip raises the boost up to about 14psi giving the car somewhere in the range of 195hp and close to 240 pound feet of tourque.
