ST LOUIS- All was fine as the St. Louis Blues ended up with a 3-3 tie with the New York Islanders on Monday. However, Blues General Manager Steve Abrahamsen was not happy with the five game suspension Keith Tkachuk received because of a charging call in overtime.

"You have got to be kidding me. Yes, he did charge the player, but just because Keith was playing his game means he will get a 5 game suspension? Please. Let them play some hockey, Keith was being physical. Isn't that allowed?," said GM Steve Abrahamsen.

Tkachuk a 225 pound power house hit the young Kharitonov of the Islanders who only has a 170 pound frame. Were the refs truely calling a penalty? Or did the size difference have to do with the suspension? Who knows because Tkachuk is now out for five games.

"We are mad that Keith is out for the five games, but we should be mad at ourselves because we let an extra point get away," said Coach Joel Quinnville. "It's going to be quite interesting because we are going to be playing with out a top forward."

The Blues have now changed their lineup around as Daniel Corso will be on the wing with the top line of Pavol Demitra and Doug Weight. Also, Radek Dvorak will be skating with Scott Young and Jan Hlavac. Playing his first game of the season will be young Sergei Varlamov. He will be playing on the Blues third line while Tkachuk is suspended.

NOTES: The Blues are still trying to find a new home for Mike Keane because of his lack of playing time. Ifanyone has any offers, please send an email to NYRGREATONE99@aol.com
