Subject: Medals up for grabs at Worlds this year

Is it just me or are there very few?

Vault, Zamo and Chuso are locks, IMO - that leaves a bronze for 1 lucky girl

Bars, Khorkina just has to show up, she's got this one locked. I had a dream last night that only Ling Jie (!) was going to be the only one to show up for the Chinese women, but haha, you know there will be at least one brilliant performance there. For the silver OR bronze it will be a TIGHT race - VVDL, Slater, Petrovici, Postell.

Beam, for beam and floor I have a feeling Raducan will be the 97 Gogean, winning both whether she deserves to or not. If the Russians send Yezhova and the Chinese send anyone decent, it will be a miracle if anyone else sneaks in there for a medal.

Floor, silver and bronze will most likely be a battle between Khorkina, Van DeLeur, Ziganshina (shudder), Cojocar. The only American who could make some noise here is Postell, but I can't remember the last time she hit a FX - Glasgow Grand Prix? Too bad Terin is all about tumbles and gorgeous dance. Not enough FUGLY twisting jumps, her SV is like 9.6.
