I read something like this some time ago in one of my fanatic fasting phases. It also said that medically prescribed pharmaceuticals account for more deaths than all street (illicit) drugs combined.

I would have no problem going to a doctor if I was in a car accident or fell off a ladder. In fact, I spent the better part of last week in the hospital because of wisdom teeth. Doctors are good at setting bones, dentists are good at pulling teeth. But if I had a cold, flu, cancer, AIDS, high blood pressure, heart disease, brain tumor, etc. ad nauseum, a doctor would be the last person I'd turn to. I mean an AMA Medical Doctor. I would call up a Chinese Herbologist, a Chinese Acupuncturist, a Homeopath, and every snake oil salesman in Mexico and France before I went across town to a Medical Doctor!!! As Bela Karolyi says in disgust, "PAH!"
