I actually liked Monsters, Inc. a bit more than Shrek. Shrek was fine and funny and all, but I thought it tried a bit too hard to be clever and hip. Monsters, Inc. was subtler and had more real emotion in it, especially in the interaction between Sully and Boo. It also had noticeably better animation, IMO.

The newer episodes of Smallville have looked to be really interesting. According to TV Guide, the episode that's scheduled for next week completely breaks out of the "villain-of-the-week" mold, and deals with Lex's shady past.
