Harks perked from the darkened corner where the queen lay as the alabaster female came forth, a scary reminder of another lupine that this whole fiasco was about. At the simple yet heavy question a soft sigh was emitted, alerting the other that indeed she was listening, even if she was curled into a ball wishing to slip from this earth suddenly. After many a moment thoughts gathered and voice was sounded as with a tired and very laden tongue Mist spoke* ’Would one believe me when I say I do not know…’ *Now she could not leave Rylin with such an answer a more appropriate one must be given, even if it hurt both* ’Emotions, have always been present within the two of us, yet it was in a time of weakened state that my mind did not control what my body achieved. I wish I could truly tell you why, but other then that it has…I have nothing more I can say.’ *The regal crown of the female had raised as words came forth, but it lowered once more with a slight thud to ashen paws as optics glanced out at Rylin. When she saw mist leave the scene and her best friend follow her she felt it was her duty to help her other best friend in her time of need. After all, she did understand what she was going through. The same thing could very easily have happened to her. Not caring if she was even welcome she slowly came to the entrance of the den, head low and softly uttered the comforting word*hey... *she came all the way into the den and layed down near Mist.* It's alright. I understand. *she turned her head to look into mist's eyes and despite the situation there was a slight smile in her expression.* You handled the situation well out there. Her ears caught the quiet words of both of the other femmes and she nodded. Her own insides were torn with what to think... She knew both sides of the typical story, being 'betrayed' and being the 'betrayer' that's why her own son's words had cut her so deeply. She shook her own past from her mind and gazed softly back at Mist. No, Rylin wasn't happy and somewhere inside her barely there heart she was hurt by what had been done between Mist and Band but... Ah emotions were a cruel thing. She sighed deeply and let her delicate head drop to look at the ground, her blue eyes glistened for a moment as she looked back up at Mist.* "Soya is right, you did your best and we all fall once in awhile. While I would wish it be someone other than..." *She could not bring herself to speak his name but continued* "I understand... It hurts that this would happen but... I call to mind it could have been me. I know others would think me foolish but I forgive you Mist and I hope that you could forgive yourself. You are mortal as we all are, you can only protect yourself so much." *It could have been her, it had almost been her once. This had been the second time an event like this had taken place in her life, they said history repeated itself. Her own thoughts contradicted each other harshly inside her mind, she had come to realize, perhaps, what Enchancee had meant by natural law. At least she thought to some extent. Wolves were only supposed to take one mate, if that mate died the so be it, perhaps another suiter would be found, a wolf was supposed to be faithful, but what happened if no one was there when they needed to be? This wasn't an everyday occurence in the life of wolves, it wasn't something they knew how to deal with. It was all very hard, and she knew it must be even harder for Mist. Finally she spoke again...* "I don't know what to think Mist, this is between you and Enchancee... Despite my rash words out there. Optics of sullen blue lifted and maw formed a weak smile of sorts as plume gave the ever-weak wag. It had been the day after Soya's return, Mist had been emotionally and physically worn from the incident that her mind had been misguided, but no matter how much she wished to say she regretted this she couldn't. For no matter if her mind was misguided, her heart had not. Yet even this could erase the feeling of betrayal she'd given to her friends. But here they were standing with her, not against her, oh how she wished to repay them for their support but how? When all she'd done the months was cause pain and heartache to many and there was more to come she was sure...more to come* 'I don't know how to thank you nor do I know what to say. What has occurred yes is between me, Band, and Enchancee...sadly the rest of you were dragged along.' *Sighs* 'I hope that I can keep that from happening in the future... *Says this truthfully as harks dropped at the mention of not knowing what to do or say. Soya was old. Her spirit still remained youthful and vibrant but her body was beginning to deteriorate from her and she seemed a sort of pittiful figure.
