This is rhetorical, but do you really believe that Jan Ullrich has lived up to his potential? Not the hype other people put on him, but his potential. A man his size and when he is fit he can drop Heras in the mountains? Olano was great, but the things Jan does when he is on form are just incredible. The 2003 TT when he almost literally killed Armstrong. That was superhuman. This year's tour when he pulled back Landis in almost no time at all.

There is nothing wrong with him winning a race for crying out loud. I just think he should be on the beach with Gabby (is that her name?) and the kid kickin' it, because he either won or came in second in the tour, took out some stages, or got a gold medal.

Wasted potential is sad. Wasted potential for greatness is tragic.
