The outcome of this stage will depend on how hard the teams push it--a break will only survive if no one wants to work or an extraordinary climber makes the break. Saunier Duval will try to drop the pretenders on the Iozard and then try to chase down any attacks on the descent. However if there are big attacks on the Izoard, then the bunch will be shattered and it could be every man for himself.

Anyway, SD will have to be agressive tomorrow, and I think their tactics will be limited to what helps Simoni. If they send out Mayo I imagine it will only be to help Simoni on the descent should Simoni drop his rivals.

Liqigas is a wildcard. Do they play defensive? Or do they ride hard and attack on the assumption that Di Luca is climbing better than his rivals?
