Subject: Forever moving forward into Season 14

Watched Forever yesterday on ME TV.I always thought it was rather strange as to how Joe Carwright's character was treated after Forever moving through Season 14. Yes, the series was drawing to a close, but Joe was so distraught and emotional after losing Alice in the opener, almost a bit deranged at times, it's hard to believe he would have moved ahead so quickly and revert back to what appears to be pre-Alice Joe. Little emotion, looks to be dating again quickly, never references her....etc...I wish they would have kept the character of Alice and included her into the story line, but I guess if they had we would have had LHOTP! Still, strange character evolution for him after the premier episode of Frever.

I remember seeing "Forever" in the first run and being FURIOUS and angry that they immediately killed off Alice and never explained how Hoss had died. For years I had a "false bonanza memory" that they said Hoss had died in a bank hold up saving a small child. Lots of fans were furious and if I recall correctly, the next episode was very low rated leading to the plug being pulled on Bonanza. Lots of fans years later said they should have just made one special final episode tying up loose ends (ie how Hoss died and a tribute, a mention of Adam if not a guest appearance of Pernell Roberts attending the wedding or Hoss' funeral or at least sending a letter or gift )
