Subject: Linda Cristal (1931-2020)

Linda Cristal passed away in June 2020 at the age of 89.

Cristal starred as Victoria Cannon in The High Chaparral (1967-1971), an NBC western series created by David Dortort. She won a Golden Globe Award and received two Emmy nominations for her role as the wife of Big John Cannon (Leif Erickson).

She appeared in one episode of Bonanza, "Warbonnet" from season 13. She also made appearances on Rawhide and Iron Horse.

Other TV guest roles included The Tab Hunter Show, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, T.H.E. Cat, Cade's County, Search, Police Story, Barnaby Jones, The Love Boat and Fantasy Island.

She had significant roles in several western films including Comanche (1956), The Last of the Fast Guns (1958), The Fiend Who Walked the West (1958), The Alamo (1960) and Two Rode Together (1961).

Other movie appearances include The Perfect Furlough (1958), Cry Tough (1959) and The Pharaohs' Woman (1960).

In 1974 she co-starred with Charles Bronson in Mr. Majestyk.

She was good at her job. The Last of the Fast Guns also had Lorne Greene as a Spanish rancher in the film. They don’t make them like that anymore….
