You could be thinking of the nationally syndicated reruns shown under the title "Ponderosa" in 1972. However, I believe those reruns were aired at 7:30 PM Eastern, and on Tuesdays only.

I may just not be remembering the time frame right for when I started seeing those first season episodes for the first time. Apparently it was 1973 when they first went into sydication. I was in grade school at the time. Funny how our memories can play tricks on us. :)
