"Trivia

His choral group, the Ken Darby Singers, sang backup for Bing Crosby on Crosby's original 78-RPM recording of "White Christmas." Dennis Day tells the story of Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman), narrated by The Old Settler. He's an apple farmer who sees people going west and thinks he can't join them, until an angel appears to him and sings the virtues of apples, convincing Johnny he has a mission. He sets off without a knife or gun; at first, the animals mistrust him, but when he even treats a skunk kindly, they all take to him. Written by Jon Reeves (e-mail:) jreeves at imdb dot com "

"Originally a segment of MELODY TIME (1948) this colorful and well-animated little film tells the story of a true, beloved American hero, John Chapman (1774-1845), who traveled the wilderness alone for forty years, planting thousands of apple trees." Billy Wilder's "Ace in the Hole", starring Kirk Douglas:

(Part II is to the right and remember that you can watch it full screen by clicking on the box with the four arrows in the lower right hand corner of the viewing screen.)

If you never seen it, it's definately worth a look an speaks to our time as much as 1951, the year in which it was made.

...who plays a very different Sheriff in this film.

Also, I'd previously written a review of it for the IMDB:

Thanks.

To watch this 58:00 minute Part 1 seen 4,807 times later.

Of click it on gets another # from the beginning or end?

I tried the full screen and it did go full screen, but was totally blacked out except for that message of press Esc to escape.

I see that Frank Cady (Sam Druker of "Green Acres") is in there too.

"Press ESC to escape", but that disappears after a few seconds. I don't know why it would be "totally blacked out". You must be msising something on your computer I have. I'm not a techie so I don't know what.

Not sure what this means: "Of click it on gets another # from the beginning or end?" If you are looking for part 2, look at the list to the right of the screen. It should be at the top.
