Subject: "A Walk Down Memory Lane: The Bachelor Party" Thread..

The script for this episode can actually be found on THIS site, but it was taken from Psyche's.

I enjoyed this ep mostly for the Doyle development, figures that they would kill him off after just making him really interesting. Boy, I loved that guy. I think it was the irish in him, makes me think of old castled and huge, green fields.. oh just listen to me sighing.. I'm a sucker for an Irish man. Never really realize how much I miss Doyle until I start talking about him (odd, considering he wasn't in that many episodes)-- but I have to agree that they went in the right direction by killing Doyle off..

It opened up a whole new can of worms for our girl Friday. And honestly, I think the show probabally would have tanked without her on it.. she adds an element to each episode that balances everyone out... I don't know, but I'm a huge CC fan- that's woman's got untapped depths.

I enjoyed "jealous Angel". Notice how he perks up when he sees Cordy has a date? Before that he was practically ignoring Doyle's attempts at conversation....lol All of a sudden it's "aren't you going to introduce us?" and "what do you do for a living Pierce?" and to Cordy "so how late will you be?" lol

Then after her disasterous date Cordy telling Angel that its all HIS fault that she now expects a guy to be "all brave and interesting"......mmmmmm like Angel you mean?

I thought the demon family was pretty funny in a corny way...all polite while they're about to eat Doyle's brains....lol

And Cordy bonking Doyle on the head because she saw "a demon" and Angel running over to stop her from hurting him since she doesn't know its Doyle

Cordy's idea of "comfort" always cracks me up
Cordy with a brilliant smile: "Hi, Doyle. Are you going to become loser-pining guy, like, full-time now? Because you know, we already have one of those around the office."
Angel: "Hey!"
Doyle: "Hey!"
Cordy: "He can get away with it. He's tall and - and look at the way clothes hang on him. But you.."
Angel: "Okay, I think you've cheered us up enough."

Downpoint is that the ep had to end with a vision of *her* sheeeeeeeeesh

Not too crazy about this ep, either. While I liked Doyle, I thought the plot was kind of corny. His relationship with his ex-wife was sort of played for laughs, and considering that Doyle was the one responsible for their failed marriage, by not being able to accept his demon-half, I kind of expected more. Especially since he was so in love with her.

Right off the bat, I didn't like that Cordy was starting to see Doyle in "a new light", because she was comparing him to Xander. That's not a new light. I was never a C/Der.

Anyway, not a terrible ep. But still, not on my top ten list.

I didn't see the links on PT's post so I thought I'd bring them in for everyone.

I actually liked this eppy. Up until now I really didn't think to much of the Doyle character and was by no means a C/Der. After this eppy aired I actually started to like Doyle and was interested in seeing where they went with the character. Ironic, huh?

Liked the interest Angel showed in Cordy, wasn't so much jealous as protective. Looking back I can see the growth in affection and protection between Angel/Cordy but, he was pretty much still hung up on Buffy at the time. I don't think that chapter was closed until "Sanctuary"

Over all it was an ok eppy, light and humorous which was nice. Cordy was as always great, she was the reason I started watching ATS in the first place and, was never dissapointed in her. Loved her continual character growth.
