Subject: How did you get hooked to Buffy and/or Angel?

I'm just wondering what brought everyone around to liking, or loving as the case may be, the shows Buffy and Angel.

I originally started watching Buffy during season two. I eventually convinced my older sister to watch a few episodes with me during season four and she loved it. She quickly went to her computer and looked up web sites for it. I meanwhile was computer illiterate and knew nothing of the internet. So if I missed a few episodes of Buffy, I had no clue. But once my sister showed me how to use this magical machine, my addiction to the show grew ten fold.

I started out as a casual viewer who, with the help of the internet (My hero), quickly became an obsessed fan counting down the minutes until the next episode of the only shows she watches on television.

Wow. That's pretty much my story too - 'cept I started watching in Season 3 and no sister so I had to teach myself to use thae magic machine. I do remember watching the 1st ep of BtVS and thinking it looked cool but life stuff got in the way of me becoming obessed then. I think I've made up for my previous lack of obsession.

Actually, 'tis a funny thing...

My mom got me hooked on it.

I was all pissed off at her for one reason or another, but she drug me out of my room and made me watch this totally looney pilot episode of some show ripped off the teen flick "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". I enjoyed it, in between death-scowls aimed at my mom for disturbing my teenage hissy-fit.

So, I've been a fan since day one and I praise the heavens that my mom forced me to watch it. As for my AtS obsession: I loved Angel from day one on BtVS. Well, his character at least. I didn't find him attractive, but I SOOO wanted him to hook up with Buffy, thus creating my B/A obsession, even when David B. got his own show. But the less interaction Buffy & Angel had, the less I liked them together, and I always thought Cordy was a great character and she 'meshed' well with Angel =) So my B/A shipper'ness is now limited to previous seasons (I don't think they should be together now, but I will forever love them together in past ep's) and I've since moved forward into C/A shippyness.

Quite the adventure, eh?

Sorry I wrote so much *shrug* I had a whole 6 seasons to cover ;)

I uh... don't watch Angel what are you talking about?? Why do I have this board you ask? Why did I build a site?? You're imaginging things. This does not exist. Its Area 69!!;)

Actually, I got hooked on Angel by myself. Watched the first ep and there it was. But Buffy was something I stumbled inot by accident... I was watching-- some wierd movie, got bored, changed the channel and wala! The addiction started:)

I was turned onto BTVS at the end of S2. My friend told me about this amazing love story that I just had to see. I started watching duing the Angelus eps (I think the first one I saw was when Buffy was in the hospital). Anyway I loved the story although B/A never did much for me Cordy and Oz were my favorite characters.

Stated watching ATS from "City of" mostly for CC and Glen Quinn (believe it or not) didn't really think DB could carry the show on his own b/c Angel was such a boring character, IMO. Really was impressed with DB/Angel from the first ep. it was so nice to see him with layers : )
