Lies are lies, Ralph, regardless of what the Cornish coast coughs up.

Did you actually believe Howard when he gave his reasons for dragging Australians into a conflict in an area that has absolutely no Australian prerogative?

Would you believe what he says when he commits us to another stoush with someone else? Will you then rationalise, as you have now done, to give truth to his lie?

Saddam, in my mind, had nothing to do with Howard's decision to follow Duhbya to war. It could have been King Tut for all Howard cared. As long as Howard served Bush in consequence to 9/11. Howard was emotionally caught up in all of this as he was in Washington when the mad mullahs directed the planes into the WTC. He committed himself THEN to whatever revenge action the USA took, regardless of whom was to receive the missiles et al.

Now that Saddam is finis, all well and good, but that was not the rationale for the war. And that lie is unforgiveable. Leaders should not have to lie to get people to follow. They are not leaders if they have to resort to spin and trickery.

My corns tell me more truth than Howard does, Ralph.
