There is a connection here and it has nothing to do with whether or not Hendrik Hudson's crew plays at nine pins when the second full moon shines over the Catskills in the same month. Can you guess what it is?

Blue Moon recorded by The Platters features a vocal bass line and so does Rip Van Winkle recorded by the tokens. Where Blue Moon begins with "Bom ba ba Bom ba Bom ba ba Bom de Dang de Dang Dang de Ding de Dong Ding", Rip Van Winkle begins with "Bom BOM ba Bom ba ba Bom Bom BOM ba Bom ba ba Bom Bom".
