Hi,
I want to sponsor a local contestant for the Miss Universe Canada pageant but have heard rumours that she is married. For obvious reasons I have not listed where I live because I do not want to spread these claims. I investigated and she is, but the marriage took place in the United States. She has shown me documentation proving that she is a delegate, but I am unsure if Miss Universe Canada is aware of this marriage, and if it is, if contestants are still qualified if the marriage took place outside Canada. Basically, I am want to know your opinion on whether I should sponsor her or if there is a risk she will be disqualified, thus making my contributions fruitless.
Thank you kindly,
Jennifer

Married is married no matter where the marriage took place. I married in the USA and I am still considered married in Canada. The *right* thing to do would be to inform Beauties of Canada, she is attempting to commit fraud whether she realizes it or not, and is taking away a legitimate spot from another delegate. So I googled 'miss canada universe delegate married' and got this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6qUnYgKNNA&noredirect=1 The thing about getting married in the USA is you can go to most county records office websites and get birth/death/marriage info. If the girl lied on her application to MCU shame on her, if MCU took her knowing she was married shame on them! With 65 delegates this year its clear they are not struggling for girls so why risk their reputation to have delegates who do not qualify? Is the press really worth it? And lets not even get into Jenna's deal. wow. that is beyond words at the moment. All I can do is wonder if MUC even checks the info they send? Are the girls not required to submit birth certificates? Proof of age, sex and citizenship of some sort? What about the girls who have spent all year training and spending thousands on entry fees, gowns, coaching etc. Its just absurd and takes so much integrity away from the entire industry. I'm sad.
