A young Aldergrove woman has her sights set on the top pageant prize in the nation and beyond.

Venessa Facciotti is heading to Toronto this May to compete in the Miss Universe Canada 2011 contest with hopes of making it to the Miss Universe pageant.

The UBC student is studying real estate division and plans to work in Langley.

"I love this beautiful city and want to help promote local businesses who help make Langley the best place to be," she said.

She participated and organized community events and helped coach basketball. Facciotti is training her puppy so it can be used for visits to Langley Memorial Hospital.

She is on the hunt for support to help cover expenses associated with travelling to and competing in a high-level pageant. She's created various sponsorship packages, ranging from $50 to more than $1,000, and has even offered up personal appearances such as autograph signing. She can be contacted at venessafacciotti@hotmail.com.
