Subject: To also be fair, it's incredibly expensive for girls to compete if they don't live near the pageant location - travel alone can be pricey. Imagine the cost of travelling from the Maritimes to B.C. for a 'national' pageant! And in places like NB and PEI, there isn't much 'push' for pageantry. NL and NS are far better; NL has an incredible pageant community. But that - and the smaller populations - are why you don't see as many girls from those areas. I can't speak for out west.

In reply to: JF 's message, "In all fairness, I think both pageants allow girls that clearly don't stand a chance nor fit into the pageant world. However, MUC website is way better that MWC. Personally, Im fed up of MUC always being from Ontario especially from GTA...I would love to see a winner outside of Ontario for once. As for MWC, time will tell, maybe there will be some major upgrades in the future. I do personally miss MWC under the management of Connie Fitzpatrick, Jimmy Steele and that crew...the first years were amazing (2003-2007), then it disappointed me in 2008 and 2009." on 17:35:37 05/19/11 Thu

I just want to make a quick point regarding JF's comment about MUC winners coming from the GTA - When you have a city the size of Toronto, w/ millions of people, the chances of someone winning from there is considerably higher than a girl from somewhere else. Heck, 40% of Canada's population is found in Southern Ontario alone. Sorry, but I doubt its purposely chosen that way, but just the result of basic statistics. (NT)Karen15:01:37 05/27/11 Fri
