How many times have we seen the girl with the lamest answer win? She was not going to win if she had given her utmost blessing to gay marriage world wide. She was ready to milk it from the moment she gave the answer...and perez gave her a platform to do it from by responding after the pageant to her answer in the first place. And let me say that he is an idiot, not just for his question that was self serving, to get the issue in the media, but for his statements regarding her answer. He said some crap about that she should be politically correct in her answer, but what about how we tell girls to 'be themselves' and to be true to themselves, then this dipstick says that pageant queens should keep opinions to themselves and be politically correct...ok so then why did he ask a question that demanded an opinion? He set her up to either fail and keep the debate in the news or to have a 'celebrity' on his side of the debate. Imagine if she had said she supported gay marriage and then didnt win???? He would totally be on the other side of the fence and supporting her even though her answer wouldnt have been 'politically correct' even going so far as to say the reason she didnt win was because of her answer...heh.. I do agree that she should lose her crown if in fact she had missed appearances, hell she should have lostt it for the photos a few weeks ago. I firmly believe that she is continuing the 'controversy' and media attention for ...the attention. And she has so far been successful in being more well known and probably made more appearances and is in higher demand than the actual winner of Miss USA. If you dont fulfill your contract you don't deserve the title...BUT....I hope that the contract was such that just because she no longer represents CA in teh system, Miss USA and Miss CA still benefit from her appearances and book deals etc. Afterall she would not be in the public eye if not for them in the first place.... I don't really see much point at the whole 'detroning' this far into her reign tho, its really too late for her runer-up to reap any benefits of being Miss CA, other than some appearances, but always just being the winner by default must really suck. Subject Author Date I agree.. if she watches the show (Miss USA) on tape, she'll see that she was in the 2nd or 3rd place based on her scores in each category up until the Interview question.
