Subject: I am talking about a girl who already has won a grandslam pageant and tries out for another one. Ingrid Rivera did not win Miss World, so it's okay for her compete in Miss Universe. But if I were the organizers of Miss Earth, I would feel pissed because it gives the impression that Jessica thinks that Miss Universe is better than Miss Earth.

In reply to: 2cents 's message, "She was in the top 10 in 2006. I don't think there's anything wrong with her competing at another grandslam--how many countries do that anyways in which one competitor competes in more than one grandslam. It's a common thing--but usually a girl who performs well in one grandslam doesn't do as well in another (look at Puerto Rico last year who was 1st RU at Miss World and didn't even make the semifinals at Universe). Each pageant looks for different things, so what may be ideal for one may not cut it for another." on 19:35:57 02/24/09 Tue

After her contract is over, what does she owe the Miss Earth? They dont own her......and if they probably would support her.....AND Miss Universe IS better than Miss Earth! I can understand the Miss World vs Miss Universe but the other 'grand slam' pageants really dont compare to either of them, budget, production, delegates, length of time running, prize packages, and status. IMO. The thing that would suck would be for her to compete as Miss Canada Universe, and not win, and especially not place in the top 10. Imagine that, being the cream of the crop in one group but being just average in another? That would be a huge blow to the ego, I dont care how self-confident you are.
