OTOH, in "Crush," there was a line about Dru telling Buffy that she came to see her funeral dirge. It was cut and it came to pass. They probably decided they didn't want to foreshadow that much.

And Marti did write "Forever." I don't like the idea of a doppleganger, but after this season, I'm not discounting anything either.
